My Photo Highlights of 2011!

2011 was a good year! Though I was slacking in the portrait and self-portrait department, I grew exponentially as a music photographer and was blessed with several opportunities to meet new people, develop new business relationships, and travel to new places. My top photo highlight of ‘11 was touring through Europe (UK, France, Germany, and more) with MyChildren MyBride, The Chariot, and Dan Smith. Night after night of chaotic sets, I really fell in love with live music photography again. Over the summer, I got connected with an amazing non-profit organization called Natural High and went out on Warped Tour to inspire others to live drug free. I made new awesome friends through my volunteer team and caught up with some of the bands on Warped (August Burns Red, Miss May I, and Moving Mountains) to talk about their natural highs. Here I captured what I believe to be some of my best live shots! This last year, I finally got to meet long-term clients of mine, A Sequence of Ghosts, face to face when they came through LA on their tour. We explored the abandoned zoo at Griffith Park while capturing some epic shots along the way. After shooting press kit photos for my boyfriend, I did a lot of photo work with drums and drummers. I teamed up with my friend’s custom drum company, Vessel Drums, and shot all of his kits and snares and a few promos of their featured artists. Now I feel I can better relate to Dave when he rambles on about drums. ;) 2011 wrapped up with a few shoots commissioned by Equal Vision Records and Tooth and Nail Records, both of which I was extremely flattered to be considered for and excited to be a part of. I can’t wait to see what opportunities, adventures, and new friends 2012 has in store!
